The last stop of the mother daughter Europe trip was the Eternal city; Rome. We were headed to the Rome Luxury Suites (another gem I found on Hip Hotels) for our last few days of adventure together.
After a short train ride from Naples to Rome (one hour to be exact), and a quick taxi from the train station, we stepped off the pebble streets of Rome and straight into our luxurious and beautifully decorated room. We instantly felt at ease. The Rome Luxury Suites is a luxury boutique hotel situated between the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo. So location is spot on.
We made ourselves at home in room 310 – a generously sized luxury suite with a raised squishy bed and even squishier chairs. You feel more like you are in a luxury home than a hotel, with ample natural lighting, swanking interiors, plasma TV and a dining area. This place was huge. We each unpacked our clothes into our own wardrobes (yes there were two) and immediately felt at home.
After arriving into our suite, we were welcomed by a cheeky bottle of bubbles and my favourite Italian chocolates. Let’s just say they didn’t last long.
To match the oversized suite was a matching oversized bathroom. A bathroom larger enough I could have held a conference in there. We both made proper use of the deep marble bath and treated ourselves every evening to a long soak.
And of course matching hers and hers white fluffy bath robes were provided.
Breakfast at the Rome Luxury Suites was perfect for these two Greenacre girls. The breakfast spread was served on the rooftop terrace and had oh-so-many greens. Green juices, green salad, green fruit! There were also scrambled and boiled eggs or you could order your own omelette. Along with all the healthy options, there were pastries, breads, cereals and a selection of seeds and nuts.
We finished off our breakfast each morning with a perfectly made cappuccino (or two) before we headed out for our day. I could have easily set up my office in the terrace as the ambience was completely tranquil.
At the end of the day (once you’ve had enough of the sightseeing), you can always come back to the rooftop terrace for an evening drink. And the interiors will have you drooling.
If you are up for a morning run (or walk), the Rome Luxury Suites are only a five minute run from the Villa Borghese gardens. It’s the third largest public park in Rome so it makes for some gorgeous scenery.
I’m a big fan of walking during a city break, so you can expect the following walking times to the major Rome tourist attractions from the Rome Luxury Suites:
Spanish Steps – 3 minutes
Fountain De Trevi – 14 minutes
Pantheon – 16 minutes
Vatican – 29 minutes
Colosseum – 30 minutes
The look on mum’s face when we walked into the suite was enough to keep me smiling for the rest of the year. I am so lucky that I get to experience luxury treatment like this through my job, so I was over the moon to share this experience with mum.
Rome Luxury Suites receives 5 gold stars from me and the services was impeccable. I’m sure I will be back sooner than later as I forgot how much I loved Rome!
Thanks to Rome Luxury Suites and Hip Hotels for hosting me so wonderfully during our trip to Rome. For more information on Rome Luxury suites, please visit their website.
