Essentials oils have been an integral part of my childhood with mum having a special remedy for me no matter the ailment. She used lavender on my pillow to help me sleep, tea tree oil for cuts and grazes and a few drops of ylang ylang at bath time. And when she wasn’t using them topically on me and my three sisters, she had beautiful blends burning in a oil diffuser to make the house smell amazing. Little did I know that these essential oils had so many more benefits then just the gorgeous aroma.
Oil diffusers disperse essential oils into the air and help the oils’ aroma fill a room with natural, safe fragrance. They make the room smell beautiful, purify the air, and allow the body to reap the emotional and physical benefits of the essential oil.
Here are few reasons why you should burn essentials oils in your home:
Most candles these days are filled to the brim of dangerous chemicals and indoor pollution. Don’t get me wrong, that double vanilla coconut candle smells like a holiday, however if its made with paraffin wax and has been bleached chemically, it will release harmful toxins into the air. The best and safest alternative is to use an essential oil diffuser that can purify the air rather than adding more toxins.
It’s no secret that London’s air quality is full of pollution, germs and toxins. There’s not much we can do living in a big city, but there are some essential oils that can help ward off illness, help to purify the air and also boost our immune systems. Some great air purifying oils to use at home are rosemary, thyme and sage.
If you choose your essential oils wisely, they can have some great effects on stimulating the brain. I love using peppermint or pine when I am working at home to keep my focus and concentration levels high.
Essentials oils are great for decongesting your airways to help you breath more easily. My mum always used eucalyptus when we were poorly to help clear our airways.
There’s no better way to unwind and relax than letting the soothing oils infiltrate your home after a long day at work. You can have a diffuser ready to go with the push of a button when you walk through the door after work. Also, when I am practicing yoga at home, I love to burn oils to help my body and mind relax after a long day. The effects it has on my sleep is truly significant. I have longer, deeper sleeps and fall asleep more easily. My favourite oils for relaxation are lavender and camomile.
There are numerous of benefits of burning essentials oils in the home you just need to make sure that the quality of oils are top notch along with the oil diffuser you purchase.
