This month I had the pleasure of showing my mum around Europe for her first time ever. Talk about a once in a life time experience. There were so many places I wanted to show her however we only had 3 weeks. First stop, Paris.

After a long 36 hours transit from Australia, I met my mum at Charles De Gaulle airport and whisked her to our hotel for the next 3 nights. 

With so many hotels to choose from in Paris, I was bombarded with options as to where to stay. I usually prefer a boutique hotel on my travels so I hopped on over to Hip Hotels to start my search.

Hotel Balmoral was one of the first hotels I came across because of it’s location and vicinity to all the major attractions. Along with the location being a winner, here are a few other highlights about staying at Hotel Balmoral in Paris:

A 5 MINUTE WALK TO….

The hotel is tucked in a quiet yet charming street, just behind the Arc de Triomphe. You can literally see the grand archway at the end of the street on your walk to and from the hotel.

You can also reach the infamous Champs Elysee shopping district in less than 5 minutes and the Eiffel Tower is about a 15 minute walk. All in all, it’s the perfect location for sightseeing, dinning and soaking up the Parisian Lifestyle.

GORGEOUS HOTEL INTERIORS

As soon as you step into the hotel, the carefully curated opulence is the perfect combination of Parisian elegance. Bright turquoise velvet covered chairs juxtaposed with ornate vases and paisley cushions was my type of curated design. 

WE SAY YES TO ROBES + SLIPPERS

One of the first things I love doing after a long day of sightseeing is to slip into a fluffy white robe, slippers and make a cup of tea. I could easily do all three at Hotel Balmoral as there is a Nespresso machine and selection of tea just waiting for you.

AMAZING BREAKFAST

The boutique hotel comes with a perfect boutique breakfast. Coffee made to order, an egg boiling station (my favourite) and a good selection of meats, cheeses, pastries and cereals. I’m mostly vegetarian and usually stay away from grains but I still managed to have a enjoyable breakfast. Of course I had to have a mini croissant. When in Paris ya? The only thing I would add would be some veggies or greens – but I can’t imagine they are a popular choice when staying in Paris.

JULIET BALCONIES

When I stay in Paris, I always look for a Juliet balcony. I can’t explain why I’m so in love with these types of balconies. It’s probably all those movies I’ve watched where the star opens the french doors in the morning onto the city below. And Hotel Balmoral has a Juliet balcony off every single room. Magnifque!

A BED FIT FOR A QUEEN

I think this year I’ve slept in over 50 different beds – so I know when a good mattress when I sleep in one. The beds at Hotel Balmoral cuddled me like a cloud and restored my energy after a long day in the city. It’s a five star rating from me.

SUPER FAST WIFI

It may not be of interest to you, but as a person who relies on wifi to run my businesses abroad, I was so impressed with the fastest wifi I’d experienced in a long time. It took 10 minutes to upload a 17 minute youtube video – I think that must be some type of world record.

SERVICE

Despitethe french usually known for their nonchalant attitude, the staff at Hotel Balmoral Paris were so eager to help me with my requests. From our waiter at breakfast, to the front of house staff, everyone greeted us with a smile. And when I realised I needed an extra night’s accomodation (due to mixing up my dates), they were happy to accomodate us last minute. A big thank you for helping me out on that one.

So if you are planning on a stay in Paris, look no further than Hotel Balmoral Paris – it’s a winner. A perfect location combined with elegant luxury and rooms to die for, it’s my choice when staying in Paris.
