So it’s only five days until the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK (just in case you didn’t know), and it’s not too late to plan a last minute getaway (they are my favourite type). No need to spend time researching where to do, I’ve done it all for you. Here are my top 5 luxury long weekend getaways that I’ve fallen in love with lately:
With only a 45 minute flight down to Newquay airport and a 10 minute taxi drive, you will be pulling into one of my favourite spas in the UK before wine o’clock. Think outdoor hot tubs, daily yoga lessons, coastal beach walks and a wellness menu. You will come back feeling refreshed and alive. Read more about my stay at The Scarlet – trust me, it’s amazing!
Just 1.5 hours out of London on the train, Limewood is the perfect getaway for the long weekend. The spa is one of the best in the country, there’s a raw and cured restaurant, plenty of nature walks, horse riding and more! To see what else you can get up to at Limewood, read my full post.
If a country style french chateaux and a Michelin star restaurant takes your fancy, then Le Mas Candille is just what the doctor ordered. Just 30 minutes from Nice airport, the Relais & Châteaux 5 Star hotel is set on nine acres of lush rolling green hills and manicured lawns. Don’t worry you can spa here too and sauna and gym or just visit the beach. Read all my tips for a weekend in the South of France to get you inspired.
One of the most unique properties I have stayed in is Villa Dubrovnik, a secluded gem on the coast of the Adriatic sea. You will feel like you are miles away when staying at this waterfront luxury hotel. I can tell you it has everything a long weekend requires: a spa, a pool, a rooftop terrace, a restaurant, a bar and a private boat to take you into town. You had me at hello! Check out my Villa Dubrovnik post and video from last year when I visited to entice you further.
If you dare to get out of your comfort zone and do something completely different, there’s a luxury boutique villa in the mountains of Bulgaria waiting to be explored. You will be waited on day and night, wined and dined to your heart’s content, and there is plenty of exploring to do near by. Think underground waterfalls, horse riding and hiking. If this sounds like you, check out my experience at Villa Gella and all they have to offer.
Well I hope that gives you a few ideas to spend your bank holiday weekend. What are you waiting for? Jump onto skyscanner.com and grab some flights and you will be all set for a mini adventure.
