I’ve been visiting the island of Bali for 20+ years now and every time I visit, more and more magic unfolds. Since moving here in 2021, I’ve created a pretty epic list of where to eat, shop, spa, stay and visit. I use to have a travel blog for more than 10 years, so the inner travel blogger likes to share with you!
My Bali favourite lists are all kept on Google Maps Lists and I add to them weekly!
So if you’re planning a trip to Bali or you already live in Bali, definitely check out my list below:
Canggu is growing and changing so fast! It’s a great busy hub for co-workers, digital nomads or people just visiting. Think bustling cafes, beach bars, co-working places, spas, shops and more. I use to live here when I first landed in Bali to live and it was a great place to get my bearrings, meet people and just be close to everything. It’s always warmer here then most places on the island.

Pererenan is a charming seaside village offering a picturesque mix of rolling green rice fields and enviable surf breaks framed by a dramatic black sand beach. Blending in with trendy Canggu, Pererenan is slowly becoming more popular but still maintains a more relaxed Balinese feel. More family and long term stays here but you’re only one street away from Canggu. There’s less traffic, less parties and more chilled vibes. There’s plenty of Bali brunch spots, co-working spaces, boutiques and restaurants – more opening every week.

The further you stay here, the further you move out of the Canggu busyness! The next beach suburbs over are Seseh, Cemagi + Kedungu. Think stretches of open rice fields, more quiet and less hustle and bustle. You have a few cafes sprinkled in between the new villas and residential properties. I love it here. It’s about 10-20 mins back to Canggu so you are not too far!

Ubud is the healing and yoga capital of Bali. I’ve done multiple yoga teacher trainings, yoga retreats and therapy trainings in Ubud and there’s something so healing about this area. The energy is very grounding in Ubud, so if you’re looking to clear your mind, heal your heart or dive into loads of yoga – this is your town to visit. In recent years, a lot of Canggu’s most popular cafes and restaurants have opened here as well as spas and co working places.

Uluwatu Bali is home of the most famous waves in Bali. The spot offers several waves which are working with different swells and tides. Set atop limestone cliff tops, it’s also becoming a favourite with non-surfer travellers too. It’s white sandy beaches and growing cafe scene is making it a favourite to digital nomads on the island. It’s definitely growing at a fast speed with new co-working spaces, cafes, bars, restaurants and beach bars to explore.

Nusa Lembongan is my favourite island getaway from Bali. It’s only a 30 minute fast boat ride from Sanur, and you are immediately transported to sandy white beaches and that laid back island life. It feels like Bali use to 10+ years ago. I go most months for a surf trip, romantic getaway or girls vacay.
